I think the green was easier on the eyes than this new white background, but I'll admit that the cleaner look is refreshing. I live in a rural area, so I'm forced to use dial-up access and your blog loads quickly.
Have you thought about using the "user modifiable" weblog settings like this site? http://greenmethods.com/ Maybe that would allow you to have some features that could be enabled or disabled depending on a user's needs.
What can you do about that scary picture in the upper right hand corner?
