FRESH & EASY TO LAUNCH REUSABLE BAG GIVEAWAY
Over 600,000 Reusable Bags Have Been Donated to Customers since 2007
EL SEGUNDO, CA – As more and more customers turn to reusable grocery bags, Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market is ramping up efforts to increase the use of these bags in its stores. This week, Fresh & Easy is bringing back its popular reusable bag giveaway, which will run through the end of the month for customers who spend $20 or more. Customers can find a special coupon for the free canvas bag on Fresh & Easy's Facebook fan page www.facebook.com/freshandeasy.*
Since opening its first store in November 2007, Fresh & Easy has given away over 600,000 reusable bags at store openings, events and through giveaways. As part of its efforts to increase reusable bag usage, this summer Fresh & Easy held its first-ever Design-A-Bag contest, generating more than 1,300 submissions from its customers. Fresh & Easy's customers picked the winner through nearly 24,000 votes. The winning design, which can be found here, will be featured on a bag that will hit stores later this year.
"We've always believed the best option is a reusable bag and we're excited to see more and more customers use them," said Roberto Munoz, Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Affairs Director. "We're working to raise awareness and get as many bags in customers' hands as possible through contests, in-store promotions and giveaways."
Fresh & Easy has also added signage in stores reminding customers to use their bags, merchandised reusable bags closer to checkouts and given away magnets to customers, reminding them to not forget their reusable bags at home. To ensure reusable bags are available to all customers, Fresh & Easy offers several different bag options, including a large organic bag for $2.99, a popular bottle bag for $1.99 and a logo canvas bag for only 99 cents.
