Netherlands: map of Dutch ag footprint in North America

This week the Royal Netherlands Embassy launched an interactive online map showing locations, descriptions and contact information of Dutch agri and food companies in the US and Canada. This unique map visualizes the extensive Dutch agribusiness footprint in North America. The new website, www.HollandAgInvest.com, was unveiled during a reception February 4 with the National Association of State Departments of Agriculture (NASDA). The United States and the Netherlands are the top two global exporters of agricultural products in the world. In 2011, the U.S. exported $136 billion worldwide, while the Netherlands exported $101 billion worth of agricultural products. About $3 billion of Dutch products were exported to North America. Dutch companies that operate in North America, such as Ahold, DSM, Rabobank, Unilever, CSM, Nutreco, Heineken, and Lely, the robotic milking company, are among the 150 included on HollandAgInvest.com. The Dutch agri-business imprint extends to more than 300 locations in North America, and includes many states and provinces. Most facilities are found in Ontario, California, Illinois, New York and Georgia. HollandAgInvest.com is the latest tool by the embassy to show the impact of the Netherlands in the US. The website complements HollandFoodPartner.com, and EconomicTies.org, which details the overall investment of Dutch businesses in the US.
