PMA real time

The PMA is slowly winding down today, with expo floor traffic predictably light. Some exhibitors say that traffic is down from San Diego - disappointingly so, one exhibitor told me, for the last half of Sunday's show floor day and for Monday. Still, most are more than pleased with the amount of buyers they have seen. While Houston is not a destination city as San Diego and Orlando are, the show has done very well. One exhibitor was worried that San Diego wouldn't be in the rotation anytime soon because the PMA is getting too big for that venue. Another said that PMA should consider squeezing out the non produce booths, particularly floral to retain more options on venues. These are problems that come with success, and this year's PMA was certainly a success.
