Grocery Manufacturers Association Urges Congress to Approve

Korea-U.S. FTA

(WASHINGTON, DC) The Grocery Manufacturers Association (GMA) today issued the following statement from GMA President and CEO Pamela G. Bailey urging Congress to approve the pending Republic of Korea-United States Free Trade Agreement (KORUS):

"Exports of food and other household products manufactured in the U.S. have exceeded imports for three straight years, supporting jobs in thousands of communities across the country.  Expanded access to new export markets for American businesses is vital to the future growth of the U.S. economy.  We fully support the Korea-U.S. FTA, which will help create new opportunities to expand exports of our products to South Korea. We look forward to working with the Administration and Congress to quickly ratify the KORUS FTA."
