Chairwoman Stabenow Announces First Farm Bill
Field Hearing in East Lansing, Michigan

Washington, DC – Michigan Senator Debbie Stabenow, Chairwoman of the U.S. Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry, announced the Committee’s first Farm Bill field hearing will be held on May 31 at Michigan State University in East Lansing, Mich. The hearing, “Opportunities for Growth: Michigan and the 2012 Farm Bill,” will focus on the upcoming reauthorization of the Farm Bill (which determines agriculture policies every five years), examining agriculture as well as energy, conservation, rural development, research, forestry and nutrition policies that affect Michigan. Witnesses and other details noted below.

A live audio feed of the hearing will be broadcast on the Committee’s website beginning at 9:00 a.m. EST at http://ag.senate.gov. An archived video of the hearing will be available on the website in the days following the hearing.
