New Year's Resolutions are bad for you and other headlines

Why even try? It turns out some believe New Year's resolutions aren't such a good idea after all. This story says that starting out the new year resolving to change ourselves merely encourages a negative self image and sets us up for failure. The story says to focus on the positive, get into touch with nature and give back to the community. Not bad advice, I'll allow, but will we ever be honest with ourselves if we can't see where we are, how much we weigh, what we owe - and want for a better day?

Here are some forward thinking quotes from Christian author C.S. Lewis:

The future is something which everyone reaches at the rate of 60 minutes an hour, whatever he does, whoever he is.
C. S. Lewis

We all want progress, but if you're on the wrong road, progress means doing an about-turn and walking back to the right road; in that case, the man who turns back soonest is the most progressive.
C. S. Lewis

We are what we believe we are.
C. S. Lewis

What saves a man is to take a step. Then another step.
C. S. Lewis
